Bounce Rate
Bounce Rate measures the percentage of visitors who leave a website after viewing only one page, without interacting further. It is an indicator of engagement and the relevance of content to the audience's expectations.
HOW TO MEASURE
Calculate Bounce Rate by dividing the number of single-page visits by the total number of visits to the site, then multiply by 100 to express the result as a percentage.
HOW TO IMPROVE
Content Quality: Enhance the relevance and quality of the content to meet visitor expectations.
Website Design: Improve site layout and usability to make navigation more intuitive.
Page Load Speed: Optimize web pages to load quickly, reducing the likelihood of visitors leaving out of impatience.
Call to Actions: Implement clear, compelling calls to action that encourage further interaction.
FORMULA
Bounce Rate = ( Number of Single-Page Sessions / Total Sessions ) × 100%
EXAMPLE
If an e-commerce site receives 1,000 visitors in a day, and 300 of these visits are single-page sessions where the visitor leaves without viewing other pages, the Bounce Rate would be: Bounce Rate=(300/1,000)×100%=30%. This indicates that 30% of visitors did not engage beyond the first page they landed on.
