TESTIMONIALS

It's a pleasure working with Deanne. She is patient and pays attention to details. GIS application is complicated and is almost never intuitive to use, but Deanne helped refine our UI so that we can bring to the user the best User Experience possible. Deanne has also been punctual at delivering her work and always kept an open dialogue during the process.

OVERVIEW
The Project

Two projects were involved in handling satellite imagery: the first aimed at determining the timing and area selection for capturing images, while the second dealt with the process of organizing and ordering these images. A strategy had to be developed to bring 5 separate software tools together.

Target Audience

The project engaged with satellite operators and image purchasers across various markets, predominantly governmental sectors. It included conducting initial interviews with users and buyers, as well as validating the concept.

Competitors

A limited competitive analysis was conducted; however, due to the classified nature of each project, which required top-secret clearance, only minimal insights could be obtained about competitors.

User Insights

Users required an interface that was not only easier to navigate but also provided enhanced visibility into the status of their orders. They faced challenges in selecting specific images for capture and in accessing historical images.

The Problem

The main problem originated from an archaic system with significant usability issues. The project aimed to design a user-friendly system that required minimal instruction, contrasting with the legacy system's extensive 200-page training manual.

The Solution

By prioritizing the mapping system, offering users intuitive, context-rich guidance, and a visually appealing interface, we significantly reduced the need for extensive training. This approach allowed us to streamline our training materials down to concise one-page documents focusing on key features.
